"Escape the Heat" Highland Camping at Nozawa Onsen, Lake SUP (Optional Downhill Mountain Biking)

Trade the late-summer humidity for crisp mountain air with an overnight escape to the highland lakeside camping in Nagano Prefecture! Day one begins at the Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort with free time to enjoy a picnic, hiking, relax in a local hot spring, or take on our optional Downhill Mountain Biking trip. In the afternoon, we will head to the Sutakako Camp Site - located at 1,300 m (4,265 feet) in elevation - to set up camp and enjoy a relaxing evening cooking out around the campfire. BBQ grills, fire logs and charcoal will be provided at the camp site. On day two, we will travel to beautiful Lake Hokuryu for a guided Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) before heading Yokosuka.

The optional Downhill MTB trip costs an additional $75/Person including one day gondola ticket, rental hard-tail MTB, shin-guards and helmet. A mandatory pre-brief is held at the Outdoor Recreation Center at 1700 on the Tuesday before the trip.
