The Wood Hobby Shop is available for patrons ages 17 and up; minors aged 14-16 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

WOODWORKING
Have you ever had a wood project you wanted to make but didn’t know how to go about doing it? Do you have any furniture that was damaged during your move to Yokosuka? Thinking of making a gift for the holidays or a special event? The Wood Hobby Shop can help! All you need is an idea for a design and the size of what you want and we can help you from there!

WOOD HOBBY CLASSES
We offer classes to customers of all levels. Classes range from safety, how to use our machinery & equipment, small projects, and much more. All classes require reservations. Please register by the Thursday before each class.
A safety test completion is required before class attendance - see Safety Orientation below for schedule. Class fee is $15 per person. Price includes shop usage, wood working material and instruction.
Classes regularly offered:
• Safety Orientation: Thursday & Saturday • 11 a.m.
• Basic Woodworking: 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month • Noon

POTTERY STUDIO
Pottery Studio refers to pottery that is produced by professional and amateur artists or craftsmen, either alone, with instructional assistance or in small groups, to produce unique items or short runs. All stages of production are usually done by the artist or the professional instructor. Studio pottery includes functional pottery, such as tableware and cooking utensils, and non-functional pottery, such as sculptures, with vases and bowls occupying the middle and often used only for display.
The studio is available for patrons ages 17 and up; minors aged 4-16 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. We offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes and teach techniques for wheel throwing, hand building, glazing, and firing. Students are also exposed to a variety of tools and materials. Our instructors are professional potters who have their own artistic careers. Class Registration is required.
