Beginning Monday, 3 August, library customers will once again be able to enter the library through the main entrance. As is required for all those who enter building 3365, library customers will have a temperature check conducted and required to sign in with a contact number and where they are going. This is the policy for all those who enter the building and will apply to library customers as well.
Book drops will remain closed as we still have to maintain a 72-hour turnaround time for all returned items, based on the best available guidance regarding library returns. Carts will be available at the front entrance for returned items, as we have been doing since re-opening.
The Yokosuka Library has books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, music CDs, and DVDs of TV shows, documentaries, and movies for children and adults. A wide range of electronic materials are available for free via https://www.NavyMWRDigitalLibrary.org. Electronic resources include downloadable magazines and newspapers, eBooks, audiobooks, videos, music streaming, specialized textbooks, music lessons, career information, and much more. Storytimes for children are offered at both Yokosuka and Ikego, including Lego-Mania. For adults, we have a monthly book club with a different title every month. Other program activities are offered throughout the year.
