GENERAL FAQS

• Registration:
No registration required for DOD ID cardholders. For local attendees, please visit this website (Japanese only) for more information.

• Price:
Entry to venue is free. Carnival rides require ticket purchases, in addition to food and craft vendors with items available for purchase. Purchases are cash only, yen only (select facilities may accept US cash in addition to yen).

• Open to:
All DoD and host nation ID cardholders of all ages. All personnel will still be required to show proper identification to access the base. Base access rules apply.

• Sponsorship for base entry:
This is an open base event. No sponsorship is required to access the festival area. All general public guests can access the festival area by utilizing the pedestrian entrance at Mikasa Park. All ID cardholders with regular access to the base may enter and exit via the Main and Womble gates. All guests not entering through Mikasa Park gate or accessing areas outside of the festival zones, will require a sponsor and an authorized guest pass from the Pass & ID Office. For questions about guest passes and base access for Yokosuka Friendship Day, please contact Pass & ID office.

• Parking:
Only DoD ID cardholders will be authorized to drive and park on base. The posted road and parking lot closures will be in effect for event day. DoD ID cardholders will be able to park in any other designated parking areas on base. Guests will not be authorized to drive and park on base. All guests will need to park outside the gates, in concurrence with the regulations set forth by the City of Yokosuka, and access the base and festival via pedestrian entrance at Mikasa Park. • COVID-19 Restrictions:
Masks are encouraged when social distancing is not possible.

• Pets:
While we love animals, pets are not allowed at this event, except for designated service animals. Please leave your furry friends at home.

• Alcohol:
Alcohol will be available for purchase at designated tents during the event. Outside alcohol is prohibited. Please see event day maps, located at info tents for more information.

• Smoking:
Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. There are five (5) designated smoking areas throughout the festival area that can be located on the event map (coming soon).

• Shuttles:
Free shuttle service will be provided for Ikego guests on a first come first served basis. Three (3) shuttles, per trip will be provided for Ikego guests to the Yokosuka Main Base. Only DOD ID and approved guest passes will be permitted to enter thru shuttle gate entrance. Shuttles will pick up guests from the Ikego NEX minimart, at the top of the hour, every hour, between 9:30 - 11 a.m. and return from Yokosuka Main Base to Ikego NEX mini-mart, at the top of the hour, every hour, between 1 - 5 p.m. Return location from Yokosuka main base to Ikego will be behind the General Mess entrance on Leahy Street. • Contraband:
I. No items may be left unattended at any time.
II. Personnel who do not wish to have their baggage checked will be turned away. This includes persons carrying large bags, backpacks, etc.
III. No sealed bags or articles unable to be opened will be allowed onto the installation.
IV. Should any guests be found to have in their possession knives, razors, or other small, yet inherently dangerous instruments, they will be turned over to Japanese police for adjudication.
V. Glass bottles are not authorized. Any containers which are not sealed will be discarded with the exception of baby formula which will be inspected to ensure the contents are not harmful.
VI. Spray paint is not authorized.
VII. All other contraband will be brought to the attention of Japanese Police.
VIII. Distribution of commercial flyers or display of banners will require immediate notification to the SECO/ASECO/CPOIC. The flyers and/or banners will be confiscated and the offender will be identified and released to Japanese Police for removal.
IX. No form of electronic/radiological monitoring equipment.
X. Bicycles, roller blades, and skateboards are prohibited for all festival attendees – guests and DoD ID cardholders.

• Dress Code:
There is no dress code for the general festival. However, there are dress code requirements for the ship visits. Please see the ship visit regulations for more information.

• Restrooms:
Restrooms will be available throughout the festival areas. Please refer to the map for available restroom locations. A nursing room can be found in the Ladies Restroom at Benny Decker Theater.

• POC:

ENTERTAINMENT

• Who is allowed to attend the concert?
All are allowed to attend, no age restrictions.

• Is there an age limit? Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?
All children 15yrs old and under should be accompanied by an adult.

• How do I purchase tickets?
No charge to watch the concerts and entertainment.

• Where with the entertainment?
Please refer to the map and entertainment schedule for more information. There will be two (2) entertainment areas, Main stage – Berkey Field and Local Stage – Benny Decker Parking Lot
CARNIVAL GAMES

• Who is allowed to play carnival games?
All are allowed to participate. Please visit attraction rules board for more information regarding restrictions.

• Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?
All children should be accompanied by an adult. No supervision will be provided.

• How do I purchase tickets and is it cash only?
Please visit the ticket booth for more information. Cash only. Carnival ticket booth is located on Berkey Field. Please see map (coming soon) for more information on location.

• Where will the carnival games be?
Both baseball fields located near Berkey Field will be available for Carnival games. There will be an additional Carnival area for Toddlers on the 2nd floor of Purdy Gym. These activities are for purchase, in YEN only.

• What time is the ship visit occurring?
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
