Sapporo is the perfect destination for your winter vacation. The city hosted the Winter Olympics in 1972, the first games to be held outside Western Europe or USA. The average annual snowfall in Sapporo is 6.3 meters (20.67 feet), which is rare for such a large city. Enjoy sightseeing, or join the escorted day trip for skiing and snowboarding to the different ski resorts such as Kiroro, Rusutsu and Sapporo Kokusai, all within a 2 hour bus ride for an additional fee. The optional escorted ski/snowboard day trip is $59 to Kiroro on January 30, $72 to Rusutsu on February 1 and $54 to Sapporo Kokusai on February 2, that includes bus transportation and lift ticket. The bus departs in front of Sapporo Tokyu REI hotel for these day trips. Enjoy the premium powder during the day, and ice/snow sculptures light up with illumination at night right before the grand opening of Sapporo Snow Festival on February 4. Trip includes transportation (air and bus), lodging at Sapporo Tokyu REI Hotel and breakfast at the hotel. Call for availability.
